Eyes in the Sky for Biden in Poland
It is 9:34am EDT time for me. It is 2:34pm in Poland, where US President Joe Biden is today. Biden was in Brussels yesterday for an emergency NATO meeting where he met with other world leaders in the midst of the Russia/Ukraine war.
The trip to Poland was a planned one. The world knew of this ahead of time. He is there to meet with the president of Poland, Andrzej Duda as well as Ukrainian refugees. You can track Biden's travel from Brussels to Poland here: https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=adfdf8&lat=49.694&lon=21.759&zoom=8.6&showTrace=2022-03-25
Biden flew on Air Force One from Brussels, Belgium to Rzeszow, Poland. In addition to AF1, there are a number of support aircraft, surveillance planes, and tankers in the sky over Poland as I write this. A general rule of thumb is that where there are tankers, there are other planes that none of us can see. We can only see planes on the map if there is an active transponder on the aircraft. Adsbexchange will display everything with that active transponder.
A NATO E-3TF is flying figure 8's northeast of Rzeszow right now. This aircraft also departed Brussels. It is Luxembourg's plane with registration LX-N90454 and callsign NATO01. You can track the E-3 here: https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=4d03cc.
A US C32 just landed in Warsaw. This aircraft is frequently used as Air Force Two but for this trip it isn't using AF2 callsign, it is using SAM246. Secretary of Defense Austin is believed to be on this plane. Track it with this link: https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=adfeb9&lat=51.666&lon=20.431&zoom=8.2&showTrace=2022-03-25
There's active movement from Poland's Air Force. You can track their Air Force in one click by following this link.
There are also a number of other aircraft in the area doing surveillance and providing support to the aircraft we can't see. There are 3 tankers flying at roughly 20-25k feet over Poland flying in circles to provide air to air refueling for whatever needs a fill up. Two of these are USAF aircraft and the third is a NATO plane from the Netherlands. You can track those here: https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=480c42,ae07b6,ae01dd
As a reminder if you want to look at only Military aircraft, head over to globe.adsbexchange.com and click the "U" at the top right side of the map.
