Aircraft of the June 2024 PGA/PIF Meeting in NYC
On June 6th, 2024, I saw a tweet by Lauren Hirsch of the NY Times about a meeting in New York City to take place on June 7th, 2024 between the major players from the PGA Tour/PGA Tour Enterprises and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) for a potential deal between the two entities.
It is expected that the people to attend that meeting in person are available PGA Player Directors, the PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan, PGA Tour Transaction Committee, and representation from Saudi Arabia's PIF. There is a PGA Tour event going on at the same time, so some of the Player Directors will be unable to attend in person but are said to be attending virtually including Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Patrick Cantlay.
There are plenty of notable aircraft already in the area or on their way, as well as some that have landed but have departed. As a reminder, these are aircraft movements and not people. We don't know who was on board any of these planes or who was dropped off, etc.
#N651XA - Saudi Aramco: This is the plane that Yasir Al-Rumayyan was aboard to Nassau for a meeting earlier this year at Tiger Woods' vacation home. The plane landed at Newark on 6/5 and departed back to Saudi Arabia about 23 hours later.
#N726AF - DP World: This is a plane that is registered to DP World. It is not clear to me if it is ever involved in talks for professional golf, but worth including since it arrived in the NYC-area the same day as Yasir. It also flew into Newark and is still on the ground there.
#N672WM - Tom Werner: Tom's plane flew to Leeds a few days ago and at the time of writing is about to land back in the NYC area at Teterboro.
#N62LV - Arthur Blank: Arthur Blank is one of the four SSG Directors. His plane isn't in NYC but it did fly on 6/6 from Bozeman, MT to an area near the Hamptons.
#N627JW - John Henry: John's plane made a ~45 minute flight from Boston to Teterboro on 6/6. This is another SSG Director.
#N795HG - Tour Air: The official plane of the PGA Tour. At the time of writing this plane is still airborne and is expected to touch down soon in Morristown, NJ.
#N524VE - Valero Services: Joe Gorder is the Chairman of the PGA Tour Enterprises. He is also Chairman of the Board at Valero. I can't say for certain whether this is a plane that he frequently uses, but it did fly today from San Antonio, TX to White Plaines, NY.
I'll keep an eye on all these planes for further movements. Make sure you're following @RadarAtlas2 on X for timely updates.
